Agricultural ATV's

The last thing you may think an ATV would be used for is in agriculture. When the original all terrain vehicles first came out in the 1970’s, they were used as recreational fun, something competitive to do with your friends. If you liked danger then at that point in time you would have loved an ATV. One of the main attractions of the ATV was that it could fit in places that a truck or car could not. They actually became very useful in hunting and camping.

Today, not only are ATV’s used as a recreational past time but they are used for Border and Beach Patrols. They are used more and more in the world of agriculture. Farms and vineyards have many acres and it would be easier to cover that ground with an ATV. Sometimes the trucks are too big and cars are inconvenient. So ATV’s are used to take the farmer to check on livestock and to check on the crops that are growing out in the field.

They are used to help fertilize the land and to repair fences and irrigation systems. They are a help in organizing the staff, to move dirt from one place to another and they can mow grass with a mower attachment strapped to the back. They even allow people with some disabilities who can’t walk around so much, get to parts of the farm where he is needed. They could take a more active role.
