Buying a used ATV

Buying a used ATV is like buying a used car, it is a great idea because it will save you a lot of money and with an ATV, and they are just going to get dirty right? Buying a new one may sound great but the used one is broken in and the person who owned it before will be able to tell you how it rides. You have to be very careful when buying a used ATV. Anyone selling one should have papers with it so you can go and register them with the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Purchasing insurance is also a very good idea. The insurance is quite cheap so don’t use the old “it’s so expensive “routine as to why you don’t have it. If you go off roading and a law enforcement official stops you and asks to see the registration papers you sure enough better have them because in some towns, if you don’t have them, the law enforcement official can confiscate the ATV’s and the only way to get them back would be through a country auction. So ask the seller of the ATV if he knows the rules.

Make sure you test drive it, don’t go crazy but give it a good test drive, you don’t want to buy something that may turn out to be a dud. Get everything in writing, If they give you a warranty have the write if=t down, even if you are buying of EBay, getting everything in writing is a must.
