Dune Buggy ATV's

You may not think about a dune buggy being an ATV but it is a recreation vehicle. You can ride them on the sand, on the water and on rough terrain. These vehicles seem so light that they look like they are flying through the air when they go over a sand dune. They have light body work but they have a modified engine with an open chassis. Dune buggies are also called beach buggies and the dune buggies have open frames called sand rails.

You see these buggies on the beach or on predetermined tracks, They can go over fast, so safety must be an issue at all times. You also have to watch out for people when you ride the dune buggy on beach. Get permission on whether or not you are allowed to use a dune buggy on the beach, some private beaches do not allow it.

Dune buggies are also used by the Border Patrol, It is a great vehicle to have when touring the borders, the terrain is mostly sand and dirt, and the dune buggy is great for this type of work. Plus they are light and can go faster which is a good trait to have for the Border Patrol. The beach patrol also uses buggies when touring the beaches, usually looking for illegal drinking and other not so legal things people do on the beach. Dune Buggies can be recreation vehicles as well as for business, they are very versatile and work well under any condition.
