PICTURES: Kawasaki XP-1 sports anti-ship missiles By Greg Waldron on September 19, 2011 The Japan Security Watch blog has published images of the Kawasaki XP-1 maritime patrol aircraft conducting flight tests with two Type-91 anti-ship missiles on its inboard missile pylons. The two outboard pylons, between engines 1-2 and 3-4, are empty in the photos. Japan currently has two aircraft for flight tests and two for ground tests. In August we reported that the ground testing aircraft developed cracks in their wings and fuselage, though Japan's defence ministry was unable to tell us how this would affect testing or procurement...

April 13, 2009: For nearly a decade now, the U.S. Marine Corps has been using diesel powered M1030M1 (Kawasaki 650cc, KLR650) motorcycles on the battlefield. The KLR650 itself came out in 1991. The marine versions are used for reconnaissance, security and courier duty, as well as getting key people (artillery forward observers) quickly around the battlefield. The U.S. military began using motorcycles again in the 1980s, having dropped them after much success in World War II. The bikes have become very popular in combat zones, and several thousand military bikes have been purchased so far. The M1030 diesel powered bikes...

Town of Waukesha - Motorcyclist Daniel Buckel was within 10 feet when he saw the potential disaster stretched across a dark and foggy rural road just ahead. Disbelief turned to fear, then anger, as Buckel's 2-year-old motorcycle hit a barrier of kitchen-variety plastic wrap that was wound thickly from traffic pole to traffic pole on opposite sides of Guthrie Road, south of Highway I. The clear plastic trap, which was 3 to 4 feet above the two-lane road south of Waukesha, sent both Buckel and his passenger, girlfriend Theresa Brzykcy, into a bloody slide across the asphalt. "It's appalling, and...
